Celebrate Ribbon Skirt Day

Since 2022, National Ribbon Skirt Day commemorates the experience of Isabella Kulak from the Cote First Nation in Saskatchewan, who was shamed for wearing her handmade ribbon skirt at school. Her story highlights the ongoing challenges Indigenous Peoples face and the importance of educating ourselves, embracing inclusion, and working to reduce barriers.

On this Ribbon Skirt Day, it is an honour for FNEE to highlight current participants in our programs and their businesses: Tammy Beauvais Designs and Création Puamun.
