\"\"Some years carry a lasting glow. 2025 is one of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

At FNEE, this year was marked by intersecting paths, rising voices, youth forging their own journeys, and <\/span>leaders\u00a0continuing to\u00a0speak with purpose, carrying our stories forward.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Holiday season approaches, when the days shorten and invite reflection, we look back on five key moments, five sparkles of light, that gave special meaning to our year and guide us toward the Winter Solstice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Five\u00a0<\/span>sparks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0made 2025\u00a0<\/span>shine<\/span>\u00a0and are\u00a0<\/span>leading<\/span>\u00a0us\u00a0<\/span>toward<\/span>\u00a0the Winter Solstice:<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Economic Re<\/span>conciliation cohort: moving forward toget<\/span><\/span>her<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>

\"\"<\/span><\/span>Within the concept of reconciliation, one word is essential: <\/span>meeting. The Economic Reconciliation program illustrates this clearly. For our second cohort, 11 Indigenous and non-Indigenous duos journeyed together throughout the program. They reimagined leadership as a space to imagine and build projects with real impact for communities.<\/p>\n

Guided by academic co-leads Ken Rock and Marc Du Sault, participants moved along this path, from meeting one another, to mutual understanding, by listening, all the way through to building impactful projects together for communities.<\/p>\n

Next Generation program: youth in motion<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In March, at the Ilnu Museum in Mashteuiatsh, the first cohort of the Next Generation program was launched. Bringing together youth aged 18 to 35 from the Atikamekw, Anicinape, Innu, W8banaki, Wendat and Wolastoqiyik Nations, the program fostered leadership, public speaking, and civic engagement.<\/p>\n

Co-created over several months in 2024 with\u00a0First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Youth Network,\u00a0New Pathways Foundation, Mikana,\u00a0Puamun\u00a0Meshkenu\u00a0and\u00a0Wapikoni,\u00a0this new program offers a safe space where Indigenous youth can chart their own path, discover their leadership, and expand their network.<\/p>\n

In August,\u00a0CN\u00a0joined as a program partner<\/a>, helping improve access\u00a0to the program,\u00a0by covering transportation and accommodation costs. Under the academic co-leadership of\u00a0Jay\u00a0Launi\u00e8re-Mathias\u00a0and\u00a0Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Gauthier, the program generated strong enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0October\u00a020 to 23, 2025, 24\u00a0young\u00a0participants\u00a0took\u00a0part in the second cohort in Gatineau<\/a>,\u00a0meeting\u00a0influential\u00a0political\u00a0leaders,\u00a0including\u00a0Senator Mich\u00e8le Audette,\u00a0Ghislain Picard, and\u00a0the\u00a0Honourable\u00a0Mandy Gull-Masty,\u00a0Minister\u00a0of\u00a0Indigenous\u00a0Services.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"\"On April 24, HEC Montr\u00e9al appointed Ghislain Picard as <\/span>an Adjunct Professor<\/a>. Involved since FNEE\u2019s inception and serving as Chair of its Advisory Committee, his appointment was highlighted in <\/span>May during an evening event<\/a> themed<\/span> <\/i>Carrying Knowledge Across Generations<\/i>,<\/i> attended by many partners, including AFNQL, FNQLEDC, New Pathways foundation, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec, L\u2019Or\u00e9al Canada, TD Bank Group, McConnell Foundation, and the Government of Qu\u00e9bec, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

On October 14, Nathalie Huntley joined FNEE as Director<\/a>. Her appointment reflects the continuity of her four-year commitment to FNEE, where she has served as a coach, instructor, and academic co-lead of the Management program. From the outset, she has pursued the strategic oversight, alongside Jean-Marc Gauthier, Director of Strategy and Development, and the Coordination Committee, to further advance the 2026\u20132031 strategic planning process, initiated in the second quarter of 2025, with a first outline presented during FNEE\u2019s 4th Anniversary.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Women Leadership’s 10th <\/span>cohort<\/span> <\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"\"<\/strong>In September, we welcomed the 10th cohort of the Women Leadership program at HEC Montr\u00e9al. Over five days, participants from the Atikamekw, Anicinape, Eeyou Istchee, Innu, Inuit, Kanien\u2019keh\u00e1:ka, Wendat, and Wolastoqiyik Nations worked on strengthening their confidence, communication skills and leadership vision.<\/p>\n

Supported by academic co-leads Brigitte Skeene and Raymonde L\u00e9vesque, this cohort is part of a broader movement: a space where more than 200 Indigenous women have, over the years, strengthened their voices and expanded their networks to fully realize their potential.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"\"On\u00a0November 21, we celebrated our\u00a04th anniversary\u00a0in a packed auditorium\u00a0at HEC Montr\u00e9al, in the heart of\u00a0Tiohti\u00e0:ke, bringing together the 2024\u20132025 certificate recipients. A total of\u00a0220 certificates\u00a0were\u00a0awarded,\u00a0a\u00a0unifying moment where the entire community could feel the scope of what we are building together.\u00a0Four\u00a0years\u00a0already. Four\u00a0years\u00a0of\u00a0projects,\u00a0cohorts, partnerships,\u00a0inspiring\u00a0stories, and bonds\u00a0woven\u00a0between\u00a0communities, Nations and\u00a0generations.<\/p>\n

Our\u00a0initial\u00a0goal of training\u00a01,000 leaders in five years\u00a0was surpassed one year early:\u00a01,182 participants\u00a0have already\u00a0journeyed through\u00a0FNEE\u2019s\u00a0programs,\u00a0and the circle continues to grow.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

These five sparks tell the story of how 2025 helped us grow through new encounters, collaborations, and partnerships. They remind us of the strength of leaders within our communities and their desire to learn together,\u00a0where education and\u00a0the networks\u00a0developped\u00a0at FNEE\u00a0become true levers for change and self-determination.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this Holiday season, we warmly thank all who contributed\u00a0to\u00a0making 2025 a\u00a0shining year: academic co-leads, instructors, the Coordination Committee, the Advisory Committee, our partners, the FNEE team, and\u00a0<\/span>more than 1,000 participants.<\/p>\n

\u2728May 2026\u00a0<\/span>ignite<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>next<\/span>\u00a0five\u00a0<\/span>sparks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>our<\/span>\u00a0collective\u00a0<\/span>dream<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>keep<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>fire<\/span>\u00a0alive as\u00a0<\/span>we<\/span>\u00a0enter the\u00a0<\/span>next<\/span>\u00a0five-<\/span>year<\/span>\u00a0cycle.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
