Last week, 24 young Indigenous leaders gathered in Gatineau for four days of learning and exchange. <\/span>Together, they focused on sharing knowledge and <\/span>strengthening<\/span> their <\/span>capacity for the opportunities and challenges ahead.<\/span> Through this training, young leaders <\/span>are equipped <\/span>with <\/span>tools<\/span> to grow their leadership and <\/span><\/span>blaze their own trail.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Day 1: October 20, 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Next Generation program cohort began its journey alongside instructors Jolianne Ottawa and Ian Picard.<\/strong> On the first day, participants had the honour of visiting the Senate and meeting Senator Mich\u00e8le Audette, who shared her inspiring journey as an Indigenous representative, followed by an engaging Q&A session.<\/p>\n

The Next Generation program confirmed that I am on the right path. The changes to come will be built on the skills <\/span>I\u2019ve<\/span> gained here. Day 2: October 21, 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n

On the 2<\/span><\/span>nd<\/span><\/span> day, participant had the opportunity to attend Question Period at Parliament, followed by an inspiring meeting with <\/span>T<\/span>he <\/span>Honourable<\/span> Mandy Gull-Masty, Canada\u2019s Minister of Indigenous Services.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3: October 22, 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n

The third t<\/span>raining <\/span>day featured a full agenda focused on communication and networking<\/span> led by <\/span><\/span>Brigitte <\/span>Ske<\/span>ene<\/span> and Ja<\/span>y Launi\u00e8re<\/span>-Mathias<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. Participants took part in an immersive workshop with La Presse, followed by insights into the journey of creative entrepreneur<\/span> <\/span>Xavier Watso<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. The day concluded with a networking activity and a photo session to capture the experience.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Day 4: October 23, 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The <\/span>jouney<\/span> ended with the closing <\/span>ceremerony<\/span>, <\/span>led by <\/span><\/span>Elder Fred McGregor, for the 2nd <\/span>cohort<\/span> of the Next <\/span>generation<\/span> program.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
