The canoe represents an understanding of the land, a wide-ranging network of connections and trade, and the intersection of two worlds. It is rooted in the rich history of the Indigenous peoples and symbolic of their determination and perseverance in moving forward and building a thriving economy. The movement of the canoe is an invitation to row in the same direction toward a prosperous, positive and independent future for all First Nations.
